Mr. Jawad Shafique

Mr. Jawad Shafique is a seasoned investment professional with over 20 years of experience in investment management, mergers and acquisitions, turnarounds, and corporate restructuring. Currently serving as an Executive Director at Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company PJSC (ADQ), he oversees the company’s financial services platform and is responsible for managing ADQ’s investments in the financial services sector.
Prior to joining ADQ, Jawad held the position of a Partner at KPMG, focusing on the deal advisory practice of the firm. In this role, he advised sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions, private equities, and corporate investors on a comprehensive range of large-scale transactions across industries and geographies, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. His experience spans financial services, healthcare, consumer, and infrastructure, with expertise in capital allocation, restructuring, and corporate governance.
Mr. Jawad serves on several boards, including Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, Pure Health Holding PJSC, Wio Bank PJSC, Odea Bank A.S. and Abu Dhabi Securities Holding. He is a CFA charter holder, a member of ACCA, and holds a Bachelor’s in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, UK.
